A tired start: Day 1 in Madrid
Our flight left Sao Paulo at 3pm and got to Madrid at 6am local time (which is 1am Uruguay time). So since we were flying during our day we didn't sleep much and were exhausted by the time we arrived in the Madrid morning. All we wanted was a shower and a nap but we couldn't check in to our Airbnb until 3pm so we had to kill 8 hours! We wandered around MalasaƱa, a lively and hip neighborhood - but a total ghost town at 8am. We ate breakfast and tried to keep from falling asleep at the table. I ran over to El Corte Ingles department store and bought an umbrella stroller, which Emiliano is in love with.
We got into the apartment a little early (1:30 pm) and after showers and naps we went exploring a bit. The day ended about as rough as it started with both kids coughing all night and having a 3am snack - jet lag I guess.
